I found the greatest blog! It's called Filth Wizardry, and it's all about the crafty adventures a mom has with her two daughters, 4 & 5 years old. I've wanted to try peanut butter play dough. It sounded fun, and since we're playing with a one year old, edible is good. My four year old played with it for a little while, and the one year old ate it, but it wasn't that much fun for me. I was glad I had only made the 1 cup version. It's greasy, greasy greasy. After we ran out of paper plates to make streamer toys with, the little gal wanted to get more. Until I took a piece of streamer, attached it to the light fixture in the center of the room, twisted it, and showed her how it looked attached to the ceiling over the stairs. I had a stack of paper plates, who knows how many years old, no longer in plastic, and who wants to eat off that? So a paper plate craft seemed like a good idea. I thought we could make a set of 12 streamer rings and dance and sing Happy Birthday with them.

My daughter was wearing this shirt, and I was not comfortable with how wide open the neck was on her. So I dreamt up this fix: add a snap and make it fun by making the closed snap create a complete flower.

My four year old is adept with scissors. Along the path to this prodigious excellence, she has on occasion, snipped some of her clothing. Her favorite "spot dress" was a victim. My immediate solution was to put some tape over the snip, to keep it from going farther. That works through the laundry and everything. She wore it to church more than ( Read more... )
