Rainbow 4th Birthday Party (4): Games

Feb 08, 2010 04:23

1) Dance to birthday songs while shaking rainbow rings
2) Rainbow Jump - hold a prism in the window and let the kids try to catch the rainbows.*
3) watch Rainbow War (for while kids are coming and going)
4) Rainbow Face painting (paint the rainbow stripes on the edge of a sponge or other applicator, then drag across cheeks in shape of rainbow)
5) Rainbow Snakes: get out the Hiss cards, give some to each kid, and let them work out how to make snakes. She got this for Christmas, handily enough.
6) Pass out party favor bags. Ours included some rainbow stacking crayons found at Dollar Tree, some bubble bottles, a coloring page, and a stripey shaped plastic spring, like a Slinky but less cool.
7) Blow bubbles. Kids love to pop them. They also tie in with the Rainbow War movie.

*All week long we had sunshine at 1:00 in the afternoon, until the day of the party. So we didn't get to play this game.

The last thing we did was to let the kids take turns driving her "little man" which we got from Global Village Gifts, and has been a favorite toy. She's playing with it in the picture shown in the "decor" post in this series. Taking turns was hard, but they survived.
