Productive day, woo. Also very sore. Mainly from mowing the lawn, but that was the boring part of productivity. I also finally made it to the Hillsborough Farmer's market to buy some herbs. Got, let's see, Rosemary (some kind with blue flowers, but tastes like normal), Spicy Oregano (much stronger than the regular kind), and a Basil. And the ( Read more... )

How much is a founding membership, and are there extra faboo perks to go with it, or just the warm fuzzy feeling you get for supporting hippiedom?

Stevia doesn't work well in baking, because it lacks the bulk of sugar, though it's great for tea/coffee. Though I bet there's a way to use some other bulky thing, like bananas or applesauce...

I was thinking stevia too. But drat, someone beat me to the punch. "Ooh, ooh! Pick me!"

I totally have packaged powdered stevia, given to me by a friend. It's around in the health-food stores. I haven't seen it in actual leaf form, though...

It looks like a random herb, something you'd expect to taste like basil or oregano... and then you taste it and like, whoah, it's made of sugar.

Jessica has some of it in liquid form. To me it tastes like nutrasweet - ewww. Possibly other forms would be good.

Yeah. The powdered stuff I have tastes kinda metallic, like an artificial sweetener. It's also just surprisingly sweet in just a small amount. I'd thought it came from a cactus or something! But I guess that's just agave.

Ooh! You reminded me to check out the Mint Hill farmer's market (it's pretty close to the First Choice house) to see if they sell herb stuff there. I'm really looking forward to having a place to plant things.

And Weaver Street needs to open a branch in Charlotte so that I may go there for breakfast. I miss them!

Yen Sid is, of course, Disney spelled backwards.

Would you believe I still haven't played Kingdom Hearts?

They have a walkaround Sora! He only comes out for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, so I've never seen him and I don't even know his character height. http://home.att.net/~disneysue/characters/wdw/sora.html

Yeah, when I first saw Yen Sid mentioned (before I saw the character in the game) I was thinking they had made up some new anti-Disney character, which sounded kind of silly. I'd forgotten that it was the Sorceror's name.

What's especially odd about you not playing Kingdom Hearts is that *both* of them have Halloween Town. ^_^

I wonder if they'll update walkaround Sora to the new black costume? Of course, if they've got him, they really ought to have a Riku too...

I wonder how Mickey in a black leather cloak would go over with the non-game-playing Disney crowd? ;)
