It's about 85 degrees in my apartment right now. I'm wearing a t-shirt and boxers and sweating like a dog... I just spent the last 45 minutes giving my TV hook-ups another shot and thanks to some tips from

You have quite a lot of equipments going on there. Isn't it a little bit strange to "ran the audio from the TV to the Video1 on my receiver/DVD player"? Audio to video 1 input?
Who is your cable provider? We just got a great deal on the HD/Tivo through Direct TV. The actual programming of it is a little awkward compared to the old box.
hey mate, how u doing? It always gets me down talking to guys in other countries cos it just proves that New Zealand is way behind with a lot of technology: we dont have ANY HDTV signals, no TIVO (we have a version put out by our only "cable" company but of course they wont let it skip adverts etc, and noone has heard of Blu-Ray of HD-DVD. The most depressing thing is the cost of everything, what you would pay $299 for in US would cost $1,050 here. Seriosuly!
I'm on COX... I'm not really in a place to go full tilt with Direct TV. I figure I can watch analogue Tivo for a while (I only miss it just a tiny bit and my Tivo mirrors whatever I'm watching so if I really need to pause and go back it's only a tv/video setting away).
I'm really just so happy to have everything playing through the stereo and getting my DVDs to play that it's all gravy now.
The horrors of home entertainment wiring.... had the mess when I bought a projector in January. Lukcily it had a huge range of connectors at the back, and the back of my stereo amp, so managed to connect: PS3, PS2, Laptop, and DVD player... and there should just be enough to fit in an HD-DVD player or the New Zealand version of HDTivo when it launches... I guess we need HD TV transmitting before that I guess.
That's pretty nifty D... I think it's a little more than I need though. I'm just one A/V short of having everything connected and for now I don't mind plugging the PS2 in when I need it. When GH3 and Katamari come out for Wii I won't even need the darn thing anymore :)
