I was 13 years old. It had been a year since my family had returned from vacation to find that our 3-year-old epileptic collie had died while we were gone. I'm so sorry. She was such a beautiful creature.

Our pastor firmly believes animals are in heaven, and he has quoted scripture as his basis - too bad I don't remember what he referenced! But he's a very, very smart and learned man, so I trust his opinion.

You'll see her some day. For now, just picture her at the foot of our Savior - just waiting for you to come home.

I'm so sorry Bethany. I loved Mandy too even though I only met her once. I'm brokenhearted for you and I'm bawling on your behalf.

Oh, I'm tearing up. We got Taffy when I was 13, and when I go home, I tell people about how excited I am to see my dog before I remember that I get to see my family, too! Losing a pet is so hard, especially a pet as wonderful and loving as Mandy. My prayers are definitely with you and your family.

This made me cry! And think about my 15 year old baby who died in May. He was the one I missed most when I left home, like you missed Mandy. He was such big, and wonderful part of my life, just like Mandy was wonderful to you.

::hugs::
