You'd have thought that Spring Break would be a good time for me to get things done, but nope. Seems this week was my "cross stuff off the list" week. :P Also, my mom and I worked everything out, which really helped

Wow! you got tons done, and you sound so much better. (Getting crap done makes anyone feel better)This must be a week to kick ass GSD (getting shit done) cause I swear I have been getting things done left and right, I might even get to clean out my room this weekend!
Did I just read that you're putting bead work on a petty coat no one will see? You're not even going to flash it with all the work you're doing!
And your talk of lace reminds me, I found, in cleaning, lace the my Great Grandma hand made! She made it and did nothing with it! I want to do something but I am not in a hurry since this is something I need to make sure I want to make.
I think what helped most...killpurakatMarch 30 2013, 22:07:28 UTC
...was deciding "screw it!" And then working on some costume stuff. Yes, it's a big time sink for me, but it's also something positive to focus on when everything else doesn't seem to be working.
Spring cleaning! Definitely do that (especially if your weather is like mine; very nice today!). Awesome that you too are on a roll with getting thingies done (and in my case, crossing them off my list).
I'm going to be judged on all parts of the costume, and I'm making this petticoat in such a way that I'll be able to wear it as a skirt by itself later on, but for the specific costume I'm putting together now, no it won't be visible. Doesn't mean it still won't be kick ass. ;)
All my lace was kind of beat up because it was from a donation my neighbor got, so I just threw it in. Do something really special with your handmade lace, because that stuff is awesome! Maybe an Easter hat/bonnet?
And happy Easter to you too, dear! I have 30 more beads to add, and then I'll take pics!
So... coincidence...?killpurakatApril 1 2013, 22:22:24 UTC
Gee, this sounds like a reason to drag you into some fun costume times. :) Or just drag you into some geekery. ;) Maybe as the time comes closer, we'll need to get in touch and meet up next January. ^^
And if you or any of your friends are big Rise of the Guardians fans, I and Mijan do need three other people to play Toothina, North, and Sandy (although Mijan swears she knows the perfect person to play Sandy, but we have no way to contact her).

Also, Arisia is in my neck of the woods, but I've never managed to go. Friends of mine do, though.

Good movie, but a little bit childish at the end. Still, gotta love Hugh Jackman as the Bunny! :)
