Time continues
The past few days have been less filled with sleep than I'd prefer. Lots of not being able to fall asleep before the mid AM hours, then being woken up by a noisy roommate in the late AM and not being able to sleep afterward. Ugh ( Read more... ) -
Success!
Ok, so I promised not to be all DURF and take apart the new display if it wasn't compatible. But I still did...with masterful SKILLS. I had to rip and replace the backlight AND the inverter. The old backlight was totally burned out, by the way. After I did that...well, it worked. I now have a working laptop, and if the inverter or backlight go ( Read more... ) -

I just ordered another display for the laptop. I'm not going to be DURF this time. If the thing isn't compatible, I'm returning it without breaking it. If I then can't find another screen to buy, I'm going to attempt another backlight replacement ( Read more... ) -

My new laptop display arrived. I had thought that ordering a same-size screen ripped from a laptop with almost the exact model number and appearance as my own would work out. Naw. I went to plug it into the motherboard and it ended up having fewer pin sockets. Hnuh ( Read more... ) -

So tasty. I know it will be. They say hunger is the best spice. Soon, in perhaps two days time it will be mine. The choice bits...RAM...CD-RW drive...the tasty laptop display I hunger so very much for. That will be the main course. The rest? Freezer.
