Definitely not a heart attack
Despite my rather type A personality, all the evidence points to the fact that whatever carries me off, it won't be a heart attack. I've had my blood pressure taken twice this week, and both times it's been 106/64. My resting heart rate is about 57 BPM. And my cholesterol is 141 ( Read more... ) -
How to warp your childhood
I was out at the Blackthorne "Resort" this weekend for an agility trial. It's in the Catskills of New York, and is as bizarre, run-down, strange and perplexing a hostelry as I've ever stayed at.
They had a bouncy castle set up for kids, and these two images appeared on the sides of the castle. Their sheer wrong-ness stopped me in my tracks.

Shark Jumping - so very true
Commentary on how vampires have jumped the shark. Very funny and quite true. I would argue that the books are actually the jumping of the shark, and the movies are just jumping up and down on the shark, but whatever.

Tri-imperfecta
Seen on the train platform, the male fashion don't trifecta (or imperfecta):
1) Guy wearing short-sleeved dress shirt with a tie. And as always with people who wear short-sleeved dress shirts and ties, his trousers were too short and the end of his tie was half a foot above his belt. They seem to all go together.

Relationships - Yr doin' it wrong
I saw a wonderful instance of a relationship fail on the walk to the train this morning. Couple walking along. Train pulls into the station. Woman starts jogging for the train, and given the line on the platform, she'll make it easily.

This may hurt
Just took Tes and Finn to the park for the doggie play group that meets there. Finn did very well, and Tes had a blast. But there was one dog there who really just wanted to run at her full speed and bowl her over, again and again. So I did what any good owner would. I stepped inbetween them to turn the other dog away and stop her charge ( Read more... ) -
The only good shot
She wiggles around a lot, so it's hard to get a good shot. Kev took her to puppy group in the park this morning and she had a blast. So far, that's a thumbs up on sociable with other dogs!

Puppy!
We have successfully retrieved the retriever from the airport. She will be Caliber's Bright Spark, and we're calling her Tesla or Tess. She's adorable, rangy, clever, a little overwhelmed, and exhausted. Finn greeted her happily, and has told her off once already for entering his space without sufficient groveling ( Read more... ) -
