State of the wolf
Yesterday I turned 29. I suppose that warrants an LJ post and some reflection on the past year. I got laid off early in 2008, and I lived on severance and the money I'd saved up (which thankfully I had removed from the stock market) for several months. I conciously bummed around for a while. Milestones
Today I encountered a pretty startling coincidence. On my way home I finally saw gas under $2.00, which is rather scary despite how much I like filling up for half the price. I also got my first cube solve under 20 seconds, ever. 19.75 seconds to be exact. I set a goal this time last year, when I first got a cube, to be able to solve it in under 30 ( Read more... ) -
Hello, job.
Well, sort of a job. It's actually consulting work with a small local consulting outfit. The pay really puts the 'insulting' in consulting, but it's something to tide me over for a while. After a drought of several months, they're swamped with work and low on manpower, so the owner seems pretty relieved to have me available. They apparently run on ( Read more... ) -

My last day working was a few weeks ago. Without much fanfare I dropped my computer and RSA key dealy off, and pretty much wiped my hands of the whole messy situation. Sick wolf, sick computer.
So I've been sick all week and it keeps getting worse. Yesterday I lost my voice, which I don't think has ever happened to me before. When I talk, I sound like some greasy faced adolescent, but with pebbles in my throat.
