I love Chin first and best. Because CHIIIIIIN! He is awesomeness personified and I'm still holding out hope that exonerating him is going to become an important through-line for the show, and the way he walks the line between being protective of Kono and yet still letting her BE A COP ("She can handle it" ♥ ) is just... ILU Chin, with your manly angst and your pep talks and your awesome Uncle-ness and your not-being-a-chauvinist!

But yes, Steve and Danny are pretty damn entertaining. Writing snark for those two is WAY too easy. And I think I agree RE: Steve's recklessness vs. Danny's. Danny has great trouble controlling himself when he gets ~emotional.

See, I find it very hard to connect to Chin because I ADORED him on lost as Jin (and I would bitch about the closeness of the names Jin/Chin except for the fact that the name chen on H50 existed well before Lost did, lol) so so so much, with his slow learning of English, and how affable and adorable he was, and his honor and... just.. I loved Jin. And Chin is not Jin. So I am predisposed towards liking him, I don't dislike him don't get me wrong at ALL, but right now I am still at the stage of "aw, I miss you Jin."

Oh, I totally understand that. I did really like Jin, but I abandoned Lost some time in the second season so I've had a lot longer to get over him.

Oh no, we've had the same amount of time, I stopped watching Lost in season 2 too. I just loved him THAT MUCH apparently. I do love Chin, he's great. I just keep waiting for him to be Jin. I'll get past it eventually. LOL.

I did the same thing - watched all the eps in a couple of days and didn't want them to end, like, ever. And thenI realized I had somehow skipped episode 8, so it was like, yay!! a new episode!! *g*

I love the 'teaminess', too - it's so cute how they all adore each other so much. But especially Steve and Danno.

Oh god, giddygeek is in this fandom too? I love how many of my favorite SGA writers are now int he H50 fandom! I don't have to search for the good fic, I can just pick the writers I'm already familiar with! LOL. That's so handy for me!

Steve does make calculated decisions but his calculations don't always add up to what he thinks it will. Suffice it to say that when he fucks up he fucks up BIG. *zips mouth shut* Come back after you see the last episode that aired and I will keysmash/squee with you over certain lolworthy EVENTS.

New eps start back up on the 3rd so no need to pace yourself too much.

As for fic recs, sutlers is my personal favorite writer in this fandom, her H50 fic is here. But other must reads are Chain of Command by leupagus (for omfg Steve, hotness), Four Times Nobody Noticed It Was a Date, and One Time There Wasn’t Any Doubt by topaz/t_fic, Jersey City, New Jersey by screamlet, & Direction by waldorph (for omfg Danny, hotness). These are just off the top of my head. leupagus wrote a 3 chapter fic that was Danny/Steve/Catherine and was HOT LIKE FIRE and is, I believe, on AO3. This is the AO3 Hawaii Five-0 tag. There is an unholy hell of a lot of good stuff there, including the recently posted Yuletide fics.
