On Character development, plot-holes and crossovers.

Hello there!

I've just finished KH2. I loved the game (kicking and slicing buildings FTW!), but its plot left me wondering about some aspects which are rarely touched in most fanfics (or at least the ones in FF.net, though I admit I haven't surfed the KH section too much).

I've read both in this community and in

forgotten characters, disney

I remember reading an awesome drabble that featured Max (Goofy's son) and how he felt about his father being away. I can't tell you how much that's been bugging me. I mean Pete has a son too, but Max is more of a known Disney character with the gang than PJ is. Plus, you have Donald's NEPHEWS and UNCLE in the game--where's the Goofy family love? Sure Clara Belle was walking around in Timeless River, but that only counts if you harbor the theory that Max is their son. (Goofy is a pimp, you see. He's been with several different women, yet we aren't sure who Max's mother is XD) But yes, HUGE WTF on that one. I guess as far as KH canon goes, Goofy doesn't have a son because just as easily as he is written with him, he's written without him ( ... )

Goofy is a damn good single father, and that's a good movie! Pete's family always amazed me because his wife Peg totally PWN3D him XD. (Psh, Mickey and Donald are never settling down. They've been dating for 50 years--pimps for life XD. They are going to be "Friends with benefits" forever.)

When my sister bought that movie, I was afraid it would blow like most Disney cheapquels (although I can't remember if it came out before Disney started that annoying trend), but was pleasantly surprised once I watched it. I think the plot was original for a Disney movie and I really, really felt bad for poor Goofy in some scenes.

Friends with benefits XD. Since I was five I've wondered when is Donald going to accept that his nephews are actually his sons? "Unca Donald", my ass XD. I've had this idea ever since I watched that short where the nephews buy a box of cigars as a Birthday present, and Donald forced them to smoke all of them. And then he finds a card inside the box and literally shrinks with shame :S. So sad ;___;

It came before they started to make 92389429387 of them and started down the trail of suckitude :P
Goofy is an emotional heart tugger. He's so sweet and gets treated like crap sometimes :( It's one of my favorite Disney movies.

XDD I use to think they were his sons when I saw Ducktales. He just doesn't want to tell Daisy he had an affair.
Awww!

Actually, with Max, he's interesting in that he's the only Disney character to have been shown consequitely aging. The reason why is that he first showed up in all those old Goofy shorts where he would travel with his dad someplace at around age five or six. Then, we saw him at middle school during Goof Troop, high school in A Goofy Movie, college in An Extremely Goofy Movie, and finally, adult in the House of Mouse series.

As for Max's mom, she was featured in the old shorts, but we only ever heard her voice and saw only her hand to wave Goofy and Max good-bye.

Yeah, we've kinda "grew up" with Max even though, if we're going in real, he's waaaay older than us XD. I think the oldest recorded age we have is like..23ish from Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas. He's older than me!

Most Disney people don't count "Goofy Jr." or "Junior" as Max. He's like, the Disney character no one wants to speak of. The black sheep of the family, if you will XD. So in turn, they really don't count whoever that woman is waving to them as Max's "mother" either. It's almost like they're saying Goofy has two wives and two different sons XD

And dang nabbit, why do I not have a Goofy icon? I have to fix this...

Why is that though? I find it hard to understand. (Then again, I'm frustrated that nobody ever looks into the European Disney canon either. I mean, PK and the Evronians? Phantom Blot against Detective Mickey? They've even made a series where Mickey and a werewolfed Goofy are paranormal detectives!)

Why do some people not count Goofy Jr. as Max? Mainly because of the difference in look and name. He looked more like Mrs. Goofy with the red hair and such, but he looks nothing like that now (he looks like Goofy), so they explain it by either saying "He just grew up to look more like Goofy" or "That's not him and they just re-did his design to the Max we know now". But at the same time, Goofy hasn't always been Goofy. He was Dippy Dawg XD. Are you trying to tell me that's two different characters, too? It's one of those Disney debate things that comes up ever so often.
There are some people who claim that..1950s is it? short as Max's first appearance, but then the whole "Ok, so..we skipped almost 35 years of Max canon and just made him a kid in Goof Troop?" thing pops up. Not that you can really count real time in Disney because that would made Mickey veeery old right now.

....If we did that, Donald would look as old as Scrooge. And Scrooge is over a hundred years old by 1964!

But anyway, Mickey is hands down a one-lady man. DONALD, on the other hand, has a ton of flings. There's a series of stories where Donald actually has a love in this one queen of an alien planet, who resembles a small bird. She reciprocates his love almost more than Donald. Yet, they're never able to stay long together because she keeps having to sacrifice her happiness to save her people.

I know, right? Did you ever watch Quack Pack? I only saw a few episodes (I don't think it ran that long either), but I swear they were almost implying that Scrooge died because Donald was living in his mansion and had all this money XD. I know he's "dead" in the comics along with Ludwig, but I don't think it's taken past that.

XD Donald is a pimp, too. The whole Duck family is screwed up now that I think about it. I believe there's the theory that Donald and Daisy are second cousins. Not to mention Daisy has dated his (well, I guess their) cousin before.

Disney--it SO goes there.

Actually, what's amusing is that Scrooge actually isn't dead yet. Don Rosa and Carl Barks have/had (respectfully) confirmed that Scrooge was alive and well in 1993.

As for the Daisy=Cousin thing, I'm not so sure about that. Although, then again, anything is possible with the Duck family.

Don Rosa has been messing with the Duck canon forever XD. I can't even remember what's his and what's not, but that's really funny. I've read he's been dead for a little while now. *HEADASPLODE*

I forget where, but I know I've read that. Some guy has been studying the Rosa tree and it basically comes up that they're second cousins. Creeepy.

And let's not even go there with Huey, Dewey and Louie. Their ages go up and down XD

Speaking of them, I'd like someone to try a fic where they're teens (ala Quack Pack), and traveling the worlds. Oddly enough, I picture Huwey as a keybearer, Dewie as the magician, and Louie as the knight. Would be interesting to see their take on the worlds and what's going on.
