Hello there!
I've just finished KH2. I loved the game (kicking and slicing buildings FTW!), but its plot left me wondering about some aspects which are rarely touched in most fanfics (or at least the ones in FF.net, though I admit I haven't surfed the KH section too much).
I've read both in this community and in

Exactly! That's what I meant with 'we all know their personalities' :D. Not only are there movie shorts and comics (I recall Donald's got a HUGE family), but TV shows as well! (Like Ducktales ^^).

Millions of years later, I still <3 the theme song!
Maybe in the future? They've already introduced most of its characters to the KH-verse, anyway. Except for Mini-Daisy (I know her as Rosita, don't know the english name) and the Pilot dude uh... I can't remember his name! :(
Man! I need to watch that show again.

Oh Jiminy, you could have written something a little bit more specific in that big journal of yours! :D
(And I still wonder how the heck that "recorded entry" picture appeared on the journal. The one that had Roxas looking at Sora just before they merged).

One of my favorite parts of the second game was also how it was always Goofy who noticed things before Donald or Sora, or would figure out things (Like how if Xehanort had a Heartless that he might also have a Nobody) before his two friends. I also liked how they showed Donald and Goofy actually fighting, because I don't buy this idea that they are bumbling and weak. Frankly I feel like they are probably some of the most powerful characters in the game, hell they each took out a thousand Heartless by themselves.
One thing they need to do in the next game is a part where you get to see Donald or Goofy on their own, or even get to directly control them.

Donald and Goofy are adorable in the final scene ^^. And you are right, they are very strong too! I never had problems with them in KHI (I was told they were useless, but they actually saved Sora's butt many times) and in KHII they were even better.
And controling them would be awesome too!

I like to think they add to the impact of the story as well, because people have this ingrained image of them, and when they do something contrary to that it makes an impact. Seeing Mickey pissed off, or Donald crying had more impact on me than say Axel pissed off or Sora crying, because I expect those actions from the latter. But seeing characters who are famous for being always happy/friendly (or in Donald's case, ill-tempered) act in a way that is very different yet at the same time believable, leaves an impression.
On a side note, I never want Mickey pissed at me, ever.

I also agree with you on Donald and Goofy. Though I was able to pick at them a bit while playing because at the time we were doing a drama unit in English class and I was thinking about dramatic foils...(had a lot of rants about Sora and Riku in the same regard). The conclusion I came to was that there actually is a lot of character to them, the signs are just extremely subtle. I doubt I would have noticed a lot of it if I hadn't been so obsessed with schoolwork at the time haha ^^;
but yeah, basically I agree with you on this rant. thanks for addressing this stuff :]

Your are right. After reading your comment I've realized that there was character development for Donald and Goofy and yep, that it was extremely subtle and mostly related to their relationship with Sora. I wish there were more scenes or dialogue for them but well... there are many other characters that were even less developed (Organization XIII, anyone?).
Oh... you are welcome ^^.
