We, the San Jose Worldcon Committee, did indeed manage to pull off three nearly-simultaneous announcements of this year's Hugo Award finalists at three different sites.
Sorry but I noticed a typo in the nominees on the Hugo Awards website. In the graphic novel category it looks like there are seven nominees but I think instead the Bitch Planet nomination has been cut in half by the Black Bolt. ;) Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you. I know the root cause of this: the initial listing had those two listings out of order, and in the process of flipping them, I got distracted and put one in the middle of the other. Fixed now.
It's quite a list of nominees. I wish them all good luck.
I'm not a fan of the retro Hugos. It's impossible to vote for these as if they were brand new works, without the historical context that has built up around them. How many voters have actually read Don Wollheim's MIMIC and/or not seen the movie (or any of its godawful sequels)?
