Australian Open Time Again

A good thing about being home these two weeks is that I can watch the Australian Open coverage on WatchESPN. That's also the bad thing, because it leads me to stay up too late watching matches. So far, our serviceable-but-not-spectacular DSL service is managing to deliver the tennis from Melbourne. I did also sign up for the Tennis Channel

The Aussie Open is only to be recommended if you really, really like heat. Melbourne is miserable enough in the summer, but the hottest place in the entire city seems to be Melbourne Park. (I spent several days there once when I was involved in a choral thing with Pavarotti, but that was in October, thank the gods.) It's just concrete, concrete, concrete which sucks the sun up. Some people love heat, of course, but if that's not you, I wouldn't feel too disappointed if you don't win.
