I am afraid for Obama. I think he'll likely make a supah fine president... but I also think some white supremacist jackass is going to attempt to assassinate him.
I've stayed out of US politics since leaving the country. When I realised that the conservatives in Canada are more liberal than the US democrats, I just gave up.

This seems the only way right now for a third republican term. :P
But then, I'm a cynic.
I'm pulling for Obama, because Hilary has shown, in the last few weeks that she's nothing but a huckster.

Either you're blind to the gender and then you choose based on qualifications but don't reject her on base that americans aren't ready or :
You're not blind to the gender and then you think americans aren't ready and then you ignore the qualifications.
I hope this makes sense. cheers :)

I do need a little help in parsing what you're getting at because it's not quite making sense to me. But I'm fairly certain that what I initially wrote seems contradictory. In a way, it is.
At this point in time, I think the American public would rather have a male leader than a female leader. They want change but not too much. I also think many Americans are pulling for Clinton because they want a female in Office. *I* don't want her in Office *because* she is female. Same goes for voting for Obama *because* he's black. I don't think that's right either. Personally, from what little I know and from what my gut is saying, I don't think Clinton's the right person for the job. I'd vote for Obama.
Does that help clarify?
