I had an appointment with my midwife yesterday. Everything seems to be going fine, heard the baby's heartbeat again. Did the glucose test, where I have to drink this icky-sweet stuff and wait an hour, then have more blood drawn. I'm actually getting used to having my blood drawn, which is good, because I'm going to have it done a LOT by the time ( Read more... )

I know the test they are doing to you!!!! MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Science knowledge saves the day!!!
>D
they're checking you for preganancy diabetes...that's a glucose tolerance test!! did they make you pee in a cup? ;)
lol
Sorry your MW is moving. I'd definately go with a CERTIFIED mid-wife...as opposed to an uncertified...
See if your MW knows or has worked with any of the OB's in town (if she has anyrecommendations...or if that's a bad question to ask her, ask someone you know) That way if worse comes to worse and you need to go to the Dr NOW...you will have an OB that you at least know...and you won't get stuck with the jerk with bad bedside manner, or the oaf that REALLY shouldn't be working there. that would be my emergency back up plan. :)
GL with baby stuff
YAAAAAAAY for italian food that roxor!! We just have Joseppis...a somewhat expensive italian like menu...I've learned how to cook manicotti very well, and I get my fix there.
love

That's a good point. Even if I decide to go to a CNM in Tulsa, I'll probably get Crystal (my current CNM) to recommend an OB-GYN here just in case of an emergency, like you said.

Ohhh, manicotti! Do you make it with ricotta cheese and everything?

Yes ma'am...I use the recipe on the back of a Barilla manicotti shells box, and just ad-lib a bit...the best thing you can do tho, is stuff them by hand...makes for fuller stuffing, and less pasta damage :)
more cheese= better
good stuff
