This hurricane shit is hitting me hard. Over 500 refugees are coming to Athens this week, and there's no telling what will come of it, given that these people will be staying in a university gym for at least 4 months, probably with shitty food, miles from home, nothing to do, most likely under heavy police surveillance, no jobs... 61 mile Athens to Atlanta bicycle trek; 90 degree heat; with Asher; covered with sweat and road grime: awesome times.

I just got back from the ATL. It took 5 hours from there to Athens- utilizing only public transportation and my bike. 45 miles through the Georgia countryside, I feel that my bike and now are good friends, we will be able to reminise about this many years from now. Tonight I saw Richie Havens at the GA Theater. I didn't know much about him, except that he was from the 60's greenwich village/folk revival scene, woodstock, etc. I won free passes on the radio by answering geography trivia.
