Jack's been stranded in the middle of the lake due to all manner of misfortune and luck during said freakish snow storm. He is cold, getting colder, or well, by now he's getting warmer. He knows enough of winter weather that first, he does not like it, and that being warm while it's cold out is a very bad sign indeed ( Read more... )

Talia had been quick to get moving as soon as Jack's message sounded over the journals. If the pirate had been afloat on his boat all this time, hypothermia was all too likely if they didn't get him warmed up as soon as possible.

She moved quickly across the snow laden ground, glad now that so many people had been out around the Keep grounds, breaking a path through. She has a length of rope slung over her shoulder and a coat, scarf and gloves in her arms. Though it might not seem cold to some of those playing in it, to the unprepared, this was a precarious position to be in.

The fact that Jack was trapped on the lake was not lost to the Herald, nor had she forgotten how she was almost drown by several year mates at the age of fourteen in a frozen river that fed into a lake. Even so, someone needed help and it was someone she knew and she couldn't stand idly by when she'd been trained for winter rescue.. mostly ( ... )

[The little sailboat is rocking back and forth in the ice free water as the captain paces his small space. He hears the voice and it's music to his cold and numb ears.

He takes his hand from under his armpits and gives her a wave. He hears you Herald!]

The fact that jack is up and moving is a good sign, although he looks a good deal bluer than is likely normal for him. She drops the scarf and coat down to one side of herself. She then begins to knot the rope around the gloves, hoping the weight is enough to carry the line to him ( ... )

Jack is doing his best to keep from cracking the gold set as teeth in his jaw. He nods at her instructs and waits for the prize. As the line arcs, at first toward him, he is almost hopeful it looked like a fine toss!

It fell short, but he did not think the redhead was one to give up easily. Look what she did with that giant rock-man! Thing.

It was the rope's fault anyways. It was too damn short. She crept closer on the ice, he gets into the boat and starts trying to paddle closer to the girl to make it easier for her to throw the rope.

The toss is in the air before his numbed body is fully able to respond and he makes a dive for it! Plunging his arms, a bit of his chest and nearly capsizing the sailboat in the process. Jack gives out a surprised and pained shout at that. It was cold and bit at him like sharp steel. Thankfully the boat was not built from a canoe ( ... )
