Sollux was so not-fucking-happy with this. He'd broken apart a ceiling or floor or something to save people and he got stuck in the same boat as the rampaging wereleopard? Oh hell no. He grumbles at the Headsman and follows. He saw the trial, there's not likely anything he can do to get out of it, so he plans to just sulk and curse at it. Until he spots the stocks and how close they are, then he just stops short.
Alex stares at the hallway before him, unable to deny the thread of fear that is turning his stomach almost violently. He exhales shakily and swallows, nostrils flaring widely as he spies the Headsman within the darkness before him. Oh, he already knows there is no avoiding this mess.
He enters the green himself and blanches as his gaze settles on the stocks he is being gestured to approach. "Silver .." There is no denying the scent that accompanies that particular metal, nor what it will do to him.
"Son of a bitch.." He stops short next to Sollux, eying the instruments with no small amount of trepidation. "How'd they know about silver .."
He might be talking to himself .. he might be talking to Sollux, even if the troll couldn't give two shits. Silver would prevent him from altering his form during the lashings. Silver would mean he'd be well and truly stuck in his human form for the entirety.
Sollux doesn't budge--or well tries not to budge as much as possible. "Fuck no, I'm not staying next to that fuzzy asshole, he'll try to chew on me again."
This is getting ridiculous. He didn't know anything about the little... whatever it was. But as far as he knew, the other man hadn't done anything to earn this kind of punishment. He hadn't even been around, lately -- which was concerning enough without hearing this news.
The mage was marching out onto the green, and making to climb the fence before he even really thought about it.
In the blink of an eye, the Headsman appears before Anders. One copy still stands behind Sollux and Alex dealing with them, but this one has unsheathed his axe and holds it at the ready.
Not again, Anders. Don't you remember the last time?
The Headsman does not attack, nor does he reply. He only makes a quick motion with one hand: a slice through the air before his own neck. Alex has injured and he has killed.
Breaking something. That's all the little idiot did and he's getting lashed for it? If this is about that damn computer then why don't they just make him fix? There's no way Kevas is going to let this happen.
Kevas is on the green shortly after the post is made. He stands by the gate clenching his fists in anger. Of course he knows that bastard with the axe will try to stop him, and he knows that he's not even completely healed yet. Charging into this was a stupid idea. Looks like he's going to do something stupid then.
Not waiting another moment, Kevas starts up the fence.
A third copy of the Headsman appears in front of Kevas. Now, one is dealing with Anders, one with the transgressors, and one with the giant, green troll.
The Headsman thrusts his hands out, sending an invisible wave of force shooting towards Kevas intended to knock him down.
Yeah Kevas knows how this bastard works. Still the force waves knocks him over, but he quickly pops back onto his feet and draws his swords.
He doesn't bother talking to the thing and immediately attacks. Feigning a blow towards the Headsman's side, Kevas slashes at his leg with his other sword.
Nepeta doesn't bother climbing. She simply leaps to the top of the fence and perches there, her gaze fixed upon Sollux. It's only when she glances down that she sees Kevas already doing battle with a copy of the cloak axeman.
Without thought, Nepeta turns and leaps for the headsman's exposed back.
She's really not sure what's going on or what she's walked in on, but everyone around her is so angry. The writing had said that Sollux was to be punished, and another as well, but Makoto did not want to believe it as true.
Looking to the Green, she spies Sollux and Alex, accompanied by the Headsman. Mako grips the fence but does not climb it. "Sollux!"
She seems pretty damn scared and worried right now. Poor kid.
Nieta had been standing in the shadow of the bailey bridge, well back from the chaos. She knew what was going to happen. She'd seen it before. She hated to watch, but it felt worse to hide in the kennels and hear the sound of it. So here she was, standing silent and out of the way.
Until she spotted a teenage girl at the fence-line calling the name of one of the victims. Nieta's feet carry her forward without conscious direction, and a moment later she reaches out to set a hand on Makoto's shoulder.
The sudden hand on her shoulder comes as a surprise and Makoto turns to Nieta, expressed startled and confused. She could not tell what was said, but the tone the woman carried seemed one of concern.
"I'm sorry, I don't understand. What's happening?! What did Sollux do?"
Makoto's words are in Japanese, but she's definitely freaking out.
"Come." She tugs gently at Makoto's shoulder, and then repeats the simple instruction in both Spanish and Portuguese. She has no idea what Mako's saying or what language she's even speaking... Maybe the other girl will recognize one of hers.
And not just any kind of punishments. Archaic punishments he had only read about in old world history books. Mads wasn't going to miss an opportunity to see this up close and personal.
So here he is, this unassuming curly haired man standing far off from the crowd watching. And despite the rather neutral expression on his face, he's keenly, if not eagerly interested in what was going on in front of him.

Scared? Fucking right he was.

"Come away. You do not want to see."
