Who Am I Voting For?

May 11, 2007 19:53

I haven't really written anything substantial in this journal and I was inspired by Audrin's Corner and since I also have strong opinions regarding politics and since elections is just around the corner I wanted to give my two cents ( Read more... )

There are few in your list that have a history of corruption and mismanagement in the government. Those whom you think are 'clean'. I'm not going to risk any libel on me by saying their names but I'll tell them to you tomorrow, if you want. =)

You're not voting for anyone in the Kapatiran?

no one in politics is clean. i have the inside scoop on politicians since my father knows many of these people because he has worked with them. you will be surprised. normal families usually talk about how their day was over dinner, we talk about politics during (thats if we do have dinner together haha). whats kapatiran?

I'm surprised you don't know the Kapatiran party, I thought you'd be the first to know. =P Here: http://angkapatiran.org/

I wouldn't vote for them.

I won't vote for Paredes because he was the executive director of the VFA commission. Aside from that his experience in public administration is limited to being an assemblyman from 1984-1986 um thats two decades ago. Haha

I won't vote for Sison because he doesn't have prior experience in government service at all, same goes for Bautista.

I admire their platform though, I think they should have run for partylist instead. If they ran for senate, they will be too overwhelmed, they won't know the protocols, they wont be efficient. They will be wasting the taxpayer's money. Well thats what I think.

Are you voting for them?

we almost have the same list. if only i could vote... anyway, i agree with you that no one in politics is clean. like you, i think the kapatiran, despite their best intentions, should've run for partylist.

that's why i want to vote for what i call the "newbloods" (zubiri, escudero, defensor, even cayetano; excluding noynoy and pimentel, i don't believe in the idea of sons "continuing" their fathers' legacies. they speak of it as if its their birthright). they are experienced yet their hands aren't that dirty yet compared to their older counterparts. i'm hoping they wouldn't turn out like the others.

no to tessie, i'd rather vote for sonia roco.

i know i can't vote but i hope i can help you with yours.

yeah i agree with you. leadership is not a genetic thing. it doesnt mean that if your father was ninoy aquino then you will be a great leader as well. look at gma and bush ( ... )

writing laws isn't the only thing a senator does. a senator also conducts investigations on important national issues. i believe chiz would make a great senator in this sense. i know there are a lot of problems in our country right now but i think the most important issue that should addressed is regaining the people's trust in government. part of that is resolving unresolved issues like "hello garci", charter change, etc. that's why as much as looking at a candidate's platform is important, i only consider the capacity of the candidate to fulfill it. i think it's very easy for someone to say that he's going to do this or that, but if whether he's actually going to bring it is another story.

if that's true (regarding sonia roco), then i wouldn't vote for her. but i'd still say no to aquino-oreta. legarda and coseteng maybe enough. i just can't help thinking that loren is just a hilary wannabe while nikki is just another jamby madrigal. aside from that, i have nothing against them. hahaha!

from what i know writing laws is the main obligation of the congress while the senate reviews the laws written. correct me on that.

according to the supreme court, gma's presidency is legitimate. i agree platforms are as good as promises. they only have importance once they are carried through.

i think legarda will just continue the impeachment of gma. what do you mean by a jamby wannabe? please elaborate on that.
