I haven't really written anything substantial in this journal and I was inspired by Audrin's Corner and since I also have strong opinions regarding politics and since elections is just around the corner I wanted to give my two cents

yeah i agree with you. leadership is not a genetic thing. it doesnt mean that if your father was ninoy aquino then you will be a great leader as well. look at gma and bush.

would you still vote for zubiri even if he was a poser environmentalist? stole the lands of the ips in bukidnon? and authored the biofuels act because he is one of the landed people in public service?

would you still vote for chiz even if all the bills he authored and sponsored did not create employment? he doesnt have a single bill that addresses the economy per se. i saw yung mga inauthor niyang bills (http://www.congress.gov.ph/members/search.php?id=escudero) ang daming mga olats mga tipong...

and whats even sadder is that one of his platforms is,

ang ganda ng platform niya very tuano and kalahi-cidds. but the thing is if he believes in it why didnt he do something about it as a congressman. lets say do that for sorsogon? so would you still vote for him?

i wouldn't vote for roco because of her lack in experience, being the widow of senator roco doesnt really mean that you can be a great leader. someone told me rin that she was interviewed in ANC and she couldn't say anything about her education platform.

writing laws isn't the only thing a senator does. a senator also conducts investigations on important national issues. i believe chiz would make a great senator in this sense. i know there are a lot of problems in our country right now but i think the most important issue that should addressed is regaining the people's trust in government. part of that is resolving unresolved issues like "hello garci", charter change, etc. that's why as much as looking at a candidate's platform is important, i only consider the capacity of the candidate to fulfill it. i think it's very easy for someone to say that he's going to do this or that, but if whether he's actually going to bring it is another story.

if that's true (regarding sonia roco), then i wouldn't vote for her. but i'd still say no to aquino-oreta. legarda and coseteng maybe enough. i just can't help thinking that loren is just a hilary wannabe while nikki is just another jamby madrigal. aside from that, i have nothing against them. hahaha!

from what i know writing laws is the main obligation of the congress while the senate reviews the laws written. correct me on that.

according to the supreme court, gma's presidency is legitimate. i agree platforms are as good as promises. they only have importance once they are carried through.

i think legarda will just continue the impeachment of gma. what do you mean by a jamby wannabe? please elaborate on that.

technically, you're right. the point is the senate isn't just about passing laws.

legarda wants to run for president. i got it wrong pala regarding nikki coseteng. nevermind what i said about her. hahaha!
