Today started with frost again and all my garden daffodils had wilted because of the cold. Today's forecast was 8C/46F and by the afternoon when the wind had dropped it did feel a lot warmer, and my daffodils had all perked up again

Ugh - spring just doesn't seem to want to happen this year, does it? On the other hand, your camellias are lovely! So glad the frost didn't kill them.

Spring is certainly being very random weather-wise! Thanks - a few of the camellia buds were caught and spoiled by the frost but there are so many they are surviving.

We were at the garden centre yesterday and the guy there we have talked to plenty of times was answering our questions about camellias. They are super hardy and apparently can be trained to climb.

They certainly don’t mind the lower temperatures and flower for ages which is nice this time of year.

I hope you can find a good way to get to Wales as that weekend may not be the easiest for travel.

Camellias are very pretty.

The train will take 5 hours with three changes but at least it is less stressful! We’re thinking a senior rail card might help with cost but it doesn’t reduced the price by much :(

We use a TwoTogether railcard but it’s probably the same discount. Buying an advanced ticket can help too. You sometimes used to be able to buy tickets to, say, Cardiff, and then buy onwards tickets separately, which could reduce the cost, but I expect they’ve closed that loophole.

Train ticket prices are a complete mess.

Those camellias are lovely.

I think a train trip always feels more like a proper holiday that taking the car.

I like going on the train. It's so expensive though - it's going to be a very pricey couple of days I think!
