We woke up to torrential rain which was not good as we have booked brunch at a restaurant in the nearby town and they are still only allowed outdoor seating until Monday. Fortunately by 8.30 it had stopped and the sun came out, so we took a chance and walked the mile and a half to town with the idea that if it started to rain we could grab a couple ( Read more... )

You were amazingly lucky to miss the rain. It's been heavy showers on and off here all afternoon.

I love dicentra and keep meaning to get one. We had one in the garden of our flat many years ago and it always looked spectacular.

Yes indeed - it’s been quite torrential on and off hasn’t it.

I’m rather pleased with the dicentra - as it’s white it looks very pretty at the end of the garden.

It’s doing much better after a very dry April and late snow slowed everything down. Now we’ve had some rain it all seems to be recovering.

It is so lovely to see things breaking into flower at last.
My little garden is full of poppies and my lavender has suddenly started to sprout from what had looked like dead sticks.

I always think it’s amazing that things that look dead suddenly get buds and spring into life with a bit of warmth and rain. It’s rather cheering.

I love Dicentra but our little ones have disappeared - didn't know they grew that big! Also, one of our two small Acers bought last year seems to be dying. The leaves are all shrivelled.
