We woke up to torrential rain which was not good as we have booked brunch at a restaurant in the nearby town and they are still only allowed outdoor seating until Monday. Fortunately by 8.30 it had stopped and the sun came out, so we took a chance and walked the mile and a half to town with the idea that if it started to rain we could grab a couple of pastries and catch the bus home again. As it turned out the weather held on and we sat outside without getting rained on.

We'd chosen the restaurant because they do a rather good eggs Benedict at the weekend, but unfortunately they'd had quite a few people cancel today (because of the rain), so they had reverted to their weekday breakfast menu which was still rather delicious. They very kindly have given us a voucher for two free eggs Benedicts for another weekend as we were a little bit disappointed - that will definitely be in our future! (Mr Cee had full English breakfast with poached eggs and I had smashed avocado with a poached egg and additional smoked salmon - both on some lovely home made sourdough bread).

We haven't bothered with lunch as breakfast was substantial - instead we've pottered around the garden a bit.

The petunias are jolly

In the woodland area I rather like this bleeding heart plant (Dicentra spectabilis alba) - it's grown significantly since last year.

Under the fir tree there's lots of bluebells and white bells still flowering.

The white lilac is flowering in double and triple flowers and smells amazing...

Promises of rhododendrons - these ones are looking a little sad because they were in the wrong type of soil in the garden so I've potted them up in containers to help them along. I'm hoping next year's leaf growth will be less yellow.

The horse chestnut tree is about to burst forth with lots of lovely flowers

The little maple tree is florishing - I love it's lime green.

Our winter flowering clematis which we were worried that the snow had killed off but it's managing to hold on and has lots of flowers

Then we've watched a film, popped out to the shops for some groceries, and now we're relaxing. A rather nice Sunday mostly being sat on by purry kitties.

16. What’s your favorite flavor of potato chips?
I like ready salted - which isn't really a flavour is it. I'm not a fan of flavoured crisps tbh. At a pinch I might go for sourcream and chives, but I have to be in the right mood for a flavoured crisp.

Unfortunately we've had our first incidence of what is knows as the 'Indian' covid variant in our borough. We're being reassured that as we are vaccinated we should be OK, but it's worrying.
