It's weird because LJ still looks very much alive to me. I'm on Tumblr too, but only for the pretty graphics. I really can't seem to have a real conversation there like on LJ. It's fine and all, but I don't even think of it as a social network, not really. I get more interaction on Facebook, and I only have five or so active contacts there. :D

But I guess it depends on the communities you follow. Some fandoms are pretty much dead here, and some are way alive. Friending memes help a lot keeping my friendslist alive too. ^^

Man, my LJ is DEAD these days. Obviously I'm still checking it regularly, because I have no intention of leaving, but I've only got a handful of people on my f-list who still post regularly.

It's time to get new friends then! \o/

Seriously, last time I used a friending meme I got ten new friends in one night. And four of them even live in my country too. Every few months I broswe my favourite communities for friending memes, it's a great way to meet new people on lj. ^^

I can't seem to make my brain do Tumblr, so if fandom goes over there it's going to effectively leave me behind. :(

Tumblr takes a LOT of readjusting, that's for sure, and the site isn't designed for functionality. :/

Well, about an hour after denouncing it so strongly in that comment, I appear to have got myself a Tumblr. Ho hum...

I've gone from hating it to mostly not minding it, but it's really a terrible platform for actual interaction.
