I'm hunting down new recipes to try. I am so tired of eating the same things every week, and I get so sick of eating packaged foods. Bleh.

I've seen a lot of in-the-oven mac & cheeses that look great. You can add something to the top, like bread crumps, or have a nice browned top. Also a great way to hide some vegetables, some some blended squash mixed in with the cheese would not be noticable.

Home-made mac & cheese can be really different from the boxed kind, and a lot better. Unfortunately most of us were raised with the easy kind, and have never had the real thing.

I think that Josh was brought up that way, but I was too! Food made from scratch was a rare treat. I have made mac and cheese in the oven before with bread crumbs (yum!), but I like the idea of starting something in the morning, leaving it in the crockpot, and coming home to a delicious already ready meal! I made some veggie chili a few weeks ago that I left in the crockpot all day and it was great! But Josh still said he preferred that canned kind, bleh!

Oh, yes, we enjoy a good crockpot meal too ;)
We are trying to get together a few more meals for it, but are also bad about 1)Remembering to start the meal in the morning, and 2)Actually cleaning the crockpot after we use it! (We need a bigger sink)

The only recipe we use with it right now is a chicken meal I found on Spark People. (You put the chicken in with a can of cream of chicken & one of cream of mushroom, then you serve it over wild rice. We also make broccoli, which is great for any sauce) Oh, and we just made some boiled peanuts with it too, yum.

Maybe you can alter the chili recipe, or find a new one Josh will like even more. Or else make it for yourself and warm up a can for him!

Oh, and Josh's idea of trying a new food is trying a new kind of Hamburger Helper with veggie crumbles :P
