Sometimes vomiting *is* positive. If you aren't *inducing* vomiting (by stimulating your gag reflex or taking medication), then it's a natural function of your body wanting to get rid of something it doesn't want to absorb.
If I'm nauseated from an illness or bad food or whatever, vomiting makes me feel better right away, too. I think that's a pretty universal response.
So unless you're vomiting very frequently, or taking steps to vomit when you aren't feeling ill, don't worry about it.
But you only vomit when you're ill, right? If you aren't eating with a plan to vomit, or vomiting when you feel fine, I'd say again this isn't a thing to be concerned about. Your issue isn't body image and food consuption, it's the physiological process of digestion
That said, the physical effects of vomiting too much are nasty on your teeth, etc, so if it's frequent, you might need further treatment for the ibs or a new diet plan.
But I'm telling you, it doesn't sound remotely like the mental illness of an eating disorder.
Yes, I don't go around doing it for fun, and it's not that frequent - maybe once every few months or so. But I probably should get further treatment, I've just had pretty spotty results with doctors before. (I found it fairly ironic how much more seriously doctors treated my twisted knee than my IBS, considering how much less that hurt.)
But I'm telling you, it doesn't sound remotely like the mental illness of an eating disorder.
No, I didn't really think so, either, just that I need to remind myself that it does have adverse effects and isn't a miracle cure.

I've been known to do that too, if the pain gets really bad. It usually doesn't work as well those times, though.
