Got to see
axa yesterday, that happens too rarely these days. We communicated in our usual ways, i.e. by trying to convert each other to each other's fandoms. She started by the Star Wars bit on Robot Chicken, which had me laughing like crazy (it took me about five or ten minutes to warm up, but after that - hee!) and then continued to Chuck, which

I'm pretty sure it usually gets good reviews even from more "official" resources, but it's hardly something I'd recommend to everyone.
(I myself like it because it's noir; Pasdar looks a little too corporate bot to be hot to me in this one.)

It's a show about a sociopathic corporate man who grew up in a box, tends to murder people, uses everyone around him to achieve his own goals, has a semi-consenting relationship with his stepmother which arguably started as sexual abuse, and is generally completely amoral - I think that may have been problematic to a lot of people. In addition, it was on Fox, which is notorious for janking edgy shows.
The nicer version is saying that it was ahead of its time, and that it would thrive on cable today, but still, I know very few shows even currently running that have such an unambiguously scary protagonist, and I'm including Dexter here.
(Although that's really the way the show makes you relate to the characters, because I think relatively speaking, Dexter is a lot more dangerous than Profit.)

Well, if you want to put it that way...
I guess I just fail to see anything wrong with that. *grin*

Yeah - I haven't seen Dexter, but as villains go, Profit has the benefit of only being homicidal if and when he really needs to. He's perfectly capable of being beneficial to you if that suits his needs.
Then again, any cookie points he gets for that are taken away by sheer creepiness.

She'd talked to a friend during the scene in Bobbi's penthouse, and taken a phone call during the lodge showdown and the following bit on Jimmy Stakowski's childhood, so for me it became quite painful to keep watching, because if you're not interested in those bits the whole thing is quite obviously a waste of time.

I'll probably dl another ep and watch on some "slow" weekday (i.e. not Tuesdays or Fridays, and see how it turns out).
But why would you do that?
Such key moments, too. *sigh* That implied threat to Bobbi thrills me and chills me something huge.
Your friend is clearly insane, sorry to say.
She's usually a sane, intelligent person. Anyway, I shouldn't throw stones, because she claims she dislikes it because everyone's a backstabber, which is very close to what I said to nfalkestav when I declared myself unwilling to watch more Oz. Manipulative intelligence is a dealbreaker to me when it comes to wanting to watch evil people - I can't expect the same to go for everyone.
I recruited people not the slightest bit sexually attracted to Pasdar to it!
That's good to know. :-)
