Got to see axa yesterday, that happens too rarely these days. We communicated in our usual ways, i.e. by trying to convert each other to each other's fandoms. She started by the Star Wars bit on Robot Chicken, which had me laughing like crazy (it took me about five or ten minutes to warm up, but after that - hee!) and then continued to Chuck, which... hadn't. Quite. I liked it well enough, dorkalicious and all that, but for some reason it just didn't grab me. She claimed it was better than Reaper, which I suppose it is, but Reaper has the Devil and Sock, and that goes a long way.

I countered with Profit, and that went down like a lead balloon. She turned to me after we finished the pilot and said, "I'm not exactly doing cartwheels," and I replied, "No, I didn't get that impression." She'd talked to a friend during the scene in Bobbi's penthouse, and taken a phone call during the lodge showdown and the following bit on Jimmy Stakowski's childhood, so for me it became quite painful to keep watching, because if you're not interested in those bits the whole thing is quite obviously a waste of time.

I don't know. Maybe it isn't a good show if you don't find Pasdar handsome (though he's not really my psysical type either - a lot of the people that make me melt aren't my physical type) and you don't have a thing for manipulative intelligence. I don't know. Either way, allow me to lick my wounds a bit. *smirk*

Considering this, I'm a bit gunshy about showing her Near Dark, but OTOH it has a 91% approval rating on rottentomatoes, and not all of those reviews can be by Pasdar fangirls. I don't know. Either way, she still hasn't seen Jekyll or Psych and we don't have any time to meet, so it might be a moot point.

chuck, profit, tv talk, robot chicken, star wars
