I'm just surprised that the teams seem so S10 heavy!
Rob and Amber are actually rather awesome competitors -- how the hell did they get so far ahead? Is their secret really superior map-reading abilities?
I dunno--I missed that bit. That was forever happening in their season, though--they'd get ahead, then get caught up to at a bunch point--so yeah, I think it must be at least partly really good navigation skills.
I suspect the two S10 teams is at least partly because they were recent, so we'd remember them, you know? And presumably they couldn't get any better all-female team than Dustin and Kandice (who were, to be fair, very successful, though in possession of what sounded like some fairly icky racial attitudes).
I think Oswald and Danny are more serious racers this time around. I still remember them from S2 when they were hopelessly behind (I mean really really badly behind). They did a "don't worry, be happy" attitude, and after doing what they could at the travel agency, spent the rest of their long layover time shopping in the foreign markets.
How can you not love that?
I think Mary and David and the BQs still have some "issues" from S10 that we're not fully apprised of. But you're right, I was disappointed in Mary for flat out lying.
Loved the landscape, the true star of TAR. I'll be more interested with the tasks then the running around in vehicles.
Ecuador! V. nice. My father spent a summer in Quito as an exchange student once, and is still in touch with the family he stayed with there, so I have a soft spot for the place.
I understand Kevin and Drew did well the first time around, though, right? Though the bigger one (Drew, I think?) definitely doesn't seem physically up to this this time around.
I hated Eric and his horndog partner so much that season, oh my God. (At least I've forgotten the other guy's name...) I am not thrilled to see him back, and I'm a little worried that he'll be good enough to keep them in the game for a long time.
Oh well. At least it isn't what's-his-name and Victoria!

I was wondering the same thing!
David and Mary are incompetent racers, as are Kevin and Drew. And yeah, Charla and Mirna are annoying; I want just Charla, whom I largely approve of.
I hate Teri and Ian so much from their season that I want them gone on general principle. Ditto the blondes, who are very good racers but total jerks.

Colin and Christie, too - very snark-worthy, but that gets old.
