Our main High St is mostly restaurants - they've put some barriers on the road so that people can sit easier outside and pedestrians can walk off the pavement onto the road and avoid the people seated.....

Too true :) In our case it was usually journalists screaming at us to find them a clip which they knew must exist even if they had absolutely no information about it!

What used to be the main road through Croydon divides into three. North End is where most of the shops are, the High Street has a mixture of shops and offices and South End is where the restaurants are. Up until very recently anyone coming shopping in Croydon would wonder where on earth we ate out as there are very few restaurants in North End. North End is already pedestrianised so it wouldn't take much to pedestrianise the rest.
