The weather is unremittingly foul at the moment so I thought I would share what we were doing this time last year again. On this exact week last year we went to Amsterdam for a few days. You have reminded me that last time we were in Amsterdam the Rijksmuseum was partially closed, so we need to go back and see it properly!! It is quite a long journey by train isn't it. I'll have to check if there are any deals anywhere......

I know going by train is more ecologically sound but it is far quicker by plane. The Rijksmuseum is enormous but we didn't manage to see much more of it than the Rembrandt exhibition as that was so intense.

My pleasure. I do recommend Amsterdam as it's easy to get to and a lovely place. Also everyone speaks perfect English which is a definite bonus from our point of view :)
