One of my RL friends at school has a fourteen-year-old friend who gave birth to a son last week. She is keeping the baby. She is FOURTEEN OMG YOU IDIOT YOU ARE NOT MATURE ENOUGH TO HANDLE A CHILD. She doesn't know how to be an adult, how is she supposed to teach someone else to ( Read more... )

No comment on the first thing.

The second thing...

What the hell. There is a reason our bodies and society are different from animals. Having a totem animal is one thing. But basicing your entire life off of them is another. THis goes way beyond the ancient fertility rites. This woman is going to end up in for a rude awakening when she realizes that raising a kid by herself is going to be hard. The woman slept with a man because his ancestor was a famous animal researcher? I am going to laugh if the child wants nothing to do with animals.

I just... yeah. Um. Stupid lady, and I really pity that child.

I want him to grow up to be a redneck hunter.

besides that most 16 year olds can't take care of themselves. Not even legally, the kid will need a parental or guardian signature for just about everything. Shit most college students can't even take care of themselves

He can't sign any legal contracts until the age of eighteen. He isn't legally emancipated at sixteen. I don't think dropping him is even *legal*.

....... I wish you'd tell me you were only making that up.

Am also dumbstruck by the sheer illogicality of it all. (16 weeks equal 16 years. Um. Yeah. And when we're at it, let's also pick the "animal traits" we live by as randomly as possible.)

PLEASE TELL ME SUCH PEOPLE DON'T EXIST.

Please?

The fourteen year old... I can't really judge her too harshly. You carry something living around inside you for nine months, and then hold that tiny little thing in your arms... A hard decision. If it was her mother who encouraged her not to give the child up, maybe she'll play a big role in raising the boy. I know if I ever got pregnant and didn't want to keep the child, my mother would want it. ^^;

And as for that woman... well, she just sounds like a nutbag. =p

She shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place. Also, the girl isn't even old enough to hold a steady *job*. And she's keeping a child.

My mother would absolutely have told me to put it up for adoption. We'd have regretted it, and we'd have tried to get the kind that lts you keep track of the kid, but no way would she have told me to keep it.
Her mother is going to do most of it. And then she's sending the girl to a school famed for its drugs and its teen pregnancies. *facepalm*

I wholeheartedly agree.

The first part, I want to agree with Phoenix-- *points up a couple comments* --but still, a fourteen-year old... I agree, that that's far too young to be having children. This isn't the medieval anymore.

The second thing... that lady is a nutcase. I kind of feel sorry for that lady's kid.
