Japan 2012 - Day 1 - Copenhagen pt. 4 and Meiji Shrine

May 07, 2012 21:18

After we left the Tivoli in Copenhagen, we walked back to Nyhaven and had lunch there. We spent our last 290 DKK (~41 €) on the BLANDEST salmon pasta I've ever had (+ 2 drinks). The cook must have thought that salt was totally overrated, just like any other spices. Luckily they had salt and pepper on the table, but really... food is allowed to ( Read more... )

Lovely pictures!

I too went to Meiji Shrine. We share similar pictures! ^^

Did you pass by the souvenirs shop? It had lots of different types of souvenirs form sweets, to fans, to postcards and phone straps!

I can't recall a SINGLE souvenir shop there o.O
But we saw a few sweets in Tokyo Tower. Or rather... A LOT *g*

I thought that everybody who went there, would have kind of similar pics :-)

Same here!

Have you ever wondered why they put all those sake barrels at shrines? I mean, why just sake and not other things?

Well... sake AND wine, but... hmm... emperor likes to have fun time?
Honestly though, I never wondered about it before ^^;;;
I just don't get why they have the sake barrels there (and on some other shrines, e.g. in Kamakura) AT ALL.

We spent quite some time watching the two guys in that tree. In RL they were much more obvious, as the tree was shaking all the time and twigs and branches kept falling to the ground ^^;;

Earthworms? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthworm
They are very, very common in Germany at least and it's no wonder that they crawled up, as they can't swim... (my brother and I tried to teach one to swim when we were still kids and basically drowned the poor one ;_;)

Those are nice pics! And it's so weird when pics from Japan look so familiar.

Congrats on the wedding rings!
