In spite of all my trips to Kyoto, I have actually never been to Inari. Just contented myself with the similar shrine in Tsuwano. Really a profusion of red toriis!
The incline doesn't seem steep on your photos. Did you have to climb a lot, though?

The inclines there were actually okay. Quite a lot of stairs though (which do become exhausting after a while), but compared to the hiking trail in Kamakura, everything else seemed like a child's play ^^;;;;;
