After we left the Imperial Palace, we had enough time left to head over to Kiyomizu-dera and actually see the temple, while the sun (or at least light) was there. I was very happy about it, as I thought we'd only arrive there a short while before sunset.

Btw, in the US pepperoni is a type of spicy Italian sausage. What you had would just be called peppers. Good by any name!

The whole paprika/pepper/pepperoni thing is soooo confusing.
Even in Germany and Switzerland the terms are different and you really have to keep in mind where you are and to whom you are speaking or you'll get the wrong vegetable for sure _._
You're not a tofu person?
I always found that quite easy to eat, unlike natto, which will make me throw up ^^;;;;

Natto is, shall we say, an acquired taste. Though I remember once being served a minute portion [like a tablespoon] as part of a keiseki dinner, and it is only after I put it in my mouth that I realized it was natto! Lol. It actually was not too bad. But I would not go look for it!

The food looks so delicious. I've never seen fried pepperoni like that before - seems extremely yummy!! *_*

After all, it was the capital for almost 1000 years ^^;;;
I'll keep my fingers crossed that one day your paths will lead you there again!
Japan has a lot of food that I've rarely ever seen prepared like this and most of it is good ^__________^

What's your favorite japanese food??

I do like their currys. A lot!
But I think I'll go with A5 ranking beef. I've had it once in 2008 and once this time and it's sooooooooooooo delicious. (Here in Germany, I'd rather eat chicken, but their beef is so, so different from ours, I'm loving it!)
For you?
