Kyoto - 2011-09-26 (late afternoon and evening

After we left the Imperial Palace, we had enough time left to head over to Kiyomizu-dera and actually see the temple, while the sun (or at least light) was there. I was very happy about it, as I thought we'd only arrive there a short while before sunset.

From the bus stop we walked up via Matsubara dori and then down Sannen-zaka (though for a few minutes only).

One of the few moments where the streets seem almost empty. Which they weren't. At all ^^;;;;

Deva-mon.

Western gate with the pagoda.

Zuigo-do (I think...)

I suppose he's the guardian of this well?

Kiyomizu-dera.

And from a slightly different angle.

Otowa waterfall. We didn't drink from it though, as the queue was long, long and then some.

View over Kyoto in the evening.

In the evening we met junklover, who is from Kyoto and now lives there again and she went with us to a small restaurant.

Here we learned, that yuba can be very delicious, when fried and served on top of a salad ^_^

Tofu with pepperoni.

I forgot the name, but it's kind of a Japanese stew.

More fried pepperoni, this time filled with fish. Sooo good!

Different kind of sushi.

And grilled beef. SOOOOOOOOO good!

Btw: I've made my first 5-min microwave cup cake yesterday, it was a bit rubber-like, but edible. Still, I prefer cakes baked the old-fashioned way - in an oven.
And yes, it's literally a cup cake and it was baked in a cup *ggg*
