I don’t know exactly why certain thing click at certain times, no matter how long you’ve known them. Kassidy just pooped on the toilet for the first time, and while we're lavishing praise on her to reinforce the behavior, and I hear a chorus of Sheppard's Geronimo on the radio singing "bombs away... bombs away". you just can't make this stuff up

It funny, when you come to a point where you can see the relative drift in personal relationships. I'd like to think happens to everyone from time to time, but in the age of 24/7 social media bombardment, I wonder just how much people notice it anymore. So I finally got to installing the baby gate that had been sitting by the front door for the last two moths or so. This go-around instead of attaching it right to the newel post I built a wooden scafold to wrap around it and installed everything at the top of the second floor stiars. Today I met up with Megan at the doctor, and we got to see the first pictures and hear the heartbeat of our second child. I was pretty relaxed right up until the sonogram, but that kind of input has a way of reaching out and grabbing at your heart no matter what. July was an interesting month, starting with the fourth of july. We decided to go to Roanoke and smith mountian lake with the inlaws, but it was also effectively Kassidy's first road trip since being a toddler, facing forward. I'm floored almost everyday at Kassidy's milestones. Dont get me wrong, it's not that I think my kid is better or smarter than other kids, it's that I find myself completely unprepared for even the littlest thigs she does.
