I really loved the episode :D I watched it with a friend as soon as we could dl it on Sunday and we had to pause it at least 10 times to squee or back it up to try to make out what they were saying?!(Did you have any trouble understanding the actual words (like the dialogue sounding muffled verses accent issues or anything like that)? I kept turning my tuner up more and more)...
Anyway :) It was amazing all over I thought and even if there are nitpicks for it still fantastic television <3 and I agree Mycroft was mad love!! (do you have any incest fic to recommend? :D I haven't read any in this fandom and after this episode I can kinda see it too... >_

Here's a link to the Holmes/Mycroft tab at cox-and-co, which is a Holmes fic community. However it is a locked community, so you'll have to join to read anything.
Woot! I'm loving the series and Spielberg was right, Cumberbatch is the best Sherlock Holmes ever! And yes, he was definitely 'softer' (not sure if this is the right word for it LOL).
It's hard to pick a 'best' Sherlock. Different times call for different Sherlocks. I think there's room these days for both RDJr and Cumberbatch, although I prefer the BBC style to Guy Ritchie's bombast.
Gatiss is awesome. I've liked him for a long time so it's really cool to see him being better known. I've loved him since The League of Gentlemen, that show is awesome.
He was good as Professor Lazarus in Doctor Who and I always enjoyed seeing him in the Doctor Who Confidentials, not to mention one appearance on QI. (He suggested that spiders would like listening to Kraftwerk.)

I hadn't noticed the eating. Maybe because Benedict Cumberbatch is so insanely skinny. It's hard to believe he actually consumes food.
