The last 60 seconds were what made it totally Squeee-worthy, instead of just reallyreallyreally good. Strangely enough, that seems to be the most controversial i.e. wanky aspect of the whole thing. (Aside from people saying that idea of the measurements being the combination was a trigger for their eating disorders.)
I love British television for the fact that it usually can consistently give well-written episodes.
Really? That's strange. The fact that Irene is the one who could consistently keep up with, and challenge Sherlock, gives credence to the fact he would go out of his way to help her. He probably wouldn't want one of the only people who has been able to keep up with him/trick him to die.
I have nothing to say over the measurements possibly triggering eating disorders except that I don't have those measurements and people tell me I'm almost scarily skinny.
The spelling things out by the girlfriend to John was a bit crude, and the fact that he couldn't keep his girlfriends straight kind of annoys me. I would have hoped he could be more sensitive than that.
To respond to the other person's comment about Sherlock continually eating, it kind of made sense to me. The episode took place over the course of months, so he wouldn't be not eating for that entire time, or, at least, I hope he wouldn't.
I would have loved to see Frankenstein, but BC's body was not impressive to me. And I think you can show friendship and camaraderie without going over the top. That scene just felt like too much.
So much love for BC and MG together. Seriously...I'm this close to have an incest ship for them, but my Sherlock/Donovan hate!sex ship is still in the lead.
Hmm, true the giggling was a bit extreme, but it was cute. But I tend to agree that Sherlock isn't the giglging type.
I'm still torn on Mycroft. As a character I like him a great deal, although part of me is thinking 'if you weren't one of the writers you wouldn't be getting so much screen time' which is uncharitable. Also, he's physically almost the complete opposite of how Mycroft is described in the books iirc. Better to look at, certainly, but completely different.
I think Sherlock loves and admires Mrs H in that she's essentially one of him, only from a different time and place. Remember how unfazed she was about her ex-husband and Sherlock's love of bloody crime scenes. And she's useful to him as well, nabbing the phone, etc. Not sexual in any way, but I 'believe' it well enough.
YES MORE LESTRADE! NOW! Gah, I still adore Rupert Graves, even if he was a non-entity.
I agree that Fry nowadays is always Fry (I haven't even seen the movie, and yet I know exactly what you mean *g*).

Which is one reason I DON'T want him to do a guest stint on House. Much as I like him as Gordon Gordon on Bones, even that has a bit of "playing Fry." I just don't see how the House gang could resist having it be all in-jokey and it would probably not bring out a great performance from Hugh. At least not a performance as House.
I'm willing to give Moff and Gattis the benefit of the doubt in having a thin Mycroft as opposed to a fat one given the societal implications of one vs the other in ACD's time as opposed to now.

The last sixty seconds were an oh my goodness moment to me.
I will have to rewatch again and give more coherent thoughts.
