[When Marco arrives, he arrives with his normal attire - which is nothing but spandex, of course. He flew here, as osprey. Demorphed out of view, and arrives as a human.]

Nothing on my side.

[And as the moment he says it, he starts to morph again. This time, with his favorite morph.

A gorilla silverback.]

[It's almost too much to be out here in the open. Bad enough to be in unfamiliar territory; bad enough to be among largely unfamilar people. Potential dangers that can't be accounted for--and it's important to account for everything.

If it weren't for what they were testing, he would not have come. But he can't deny an interest in the subject. To see if a Death Note really works will all be worth it. But:]

[He gives this other person a sidelong glance--ah, but interesting, he's not a person, he's--

[Near is a little impressed, despite himself--and a little unnerved, though only slightly. Watching a body move from one shape to the next, from one thing to another--it's not appealing. Physcially, he doesn't do anything more than wrinkle his nose a little--though inwardly, he's calculating. It seems impossible, for one thing to turn to another like that.

But the real show here is the Death Note. So instead, Near just stares at Marco, wrapping a strand of hair around his finger. And waits.]

[Muscles are the first things to go. Muscles piled up on Marco's arms - it look like Marco was morphing Arnold Schwarzenegger instead of a gorilla. His legs shrank. His toes grew larger and shifted around. His skin turns into black leather before being mostly covered with dark fur.

Within a minute, Marco has become a miniature King Kong, or AKA Big Jim.]

[The walk here was annoying; having B bound, gagged, and blinded hasn't done much to help their trek, and his annoyance spikes when Mello sees that L isn't the only one here.

So they're in for an audience, are they?

And Near, of all people. It's slightly insulting that L wouldn't ask only Mello to be present for whatever is about to happen. He pauses for a moment as his eyes take in the sight of his rival. First time Mello's seeing him here, in the flesh. T'ch
