[There’s a small frown on Allen’s face as naturally follows the group down the mountain, aligning with Valeria’s cluster since he sort of knows her and she doesn’t unnerve him like some people might. Not being on the same team as Gau might annoy him a bit but he’s laid back in this sense; he likes being with people he knows, but it’s not that big a deal.

What the eff, how is all this becoming the new normal, anyway.

Allen rubs in agitation at the back of head in a moment of quiet and personal agitation. What the eff indeed. If he let himself think further on it he might be very, very emo… but better to keep looking forward! Ish. He approaches Val with an expectant look, however.]

Is it alright if I go with your group?

[Smile, cheek scratch. Hidden guilt at doing something like hunting when maybe he should be doing something more important, but these people seemed key to finding out what was happening.]

It would be a pleasure to have you, Allen!

[ Valeria smiles easy and issues a single, enthusiastic nod to Allen in response to his question. She has no real preference as to who joins her team, for this venture is meant largely to be a learning experience in addition to being a great opportunity to get to know one another better, and in far more ways than one. After all, if they're going to work together and rely upon one another to some degree, it's best they have some idea about each others skills, abilities, personal mechanics, and limitations, to name a few. She continues walking backwards down the vertical strip for the moment, radiating relaxed cheer all the same. ]

[Yoite doesn't know how or when he has ended up standing behind Raikou, but partly due to the fact that he is too lazy to move elsewhere but more so because Yoite trusts Raikou's skill with a sword he decides to stay where he is. It will be safest for Miharu that way. Besides, as much as Yoite hates to admit it, and he never will, he has begun to become fond of the pink haired samurai... in that way that one would be fond of an older brother that constantly teased you and pulled your hair but in the end was there when you needed it.

...How did that happen? Several weeks ago back in the world of Nabari becoming friends with Raikou was the farthest thing from his mind.

Either way now is neither the time or the place to try and figure out what has happened to change things between them and he just accepts that they have. Analyzing it can come later

Thus, Yoite tugs gently on Raikou's sleeve to signal that he wants to be on the samurai's team.]

[Gau glances toward his partner, tilts his head, and reaches out a hand to brush it again Raikou's arm before resolutely stepping away. He takes a few steps away, a little quicker, and then places himself next to Allen.]

I think it might be better for me to explore the possibilities of working with other people some. Just because there's no knowing when something might go wrong or the group get split up, and I'm too used to relying on Raikou-san.

[The words are said sort of to the group, but he smiles at Raikou as he says them, almost an apology. At least on the surface... though in actuality, his and Raikou's taking different teams is preplanned and for other tactical purposes.]

[Blinking a bit in surprise as Gau aligned himself beside him, Allen offers a companionable if nervous grin. He doesn’t get a lot of what Gau implies when he talks to the group, but understands some of the base scenarios. This was probably an awkward thing with Raikou, wasn’t it?]

It’s alright. [He’s reassuring, smiling and looking a bit old for his age. He’s a bit apprehensive about this as well, though.] We’re all learning this together, right?

[Allen certainly hopes so. Another grin; he does that a lot with strangers in particular.]

[Gau smiles, and his own expression is meant to be reassuring, because the other young man seems nervous.]

Mmhmm. I've hunted a little since I've been here, but I'll admit...my kills were fairly clumsy.

[He frowns, because a clumsy kill means suffering, and human or animal, he'd prefer not to create any. There's blood on his hands, yes, but he's always done his best not to cause suffering.]

I'm surprised you're not sick of me already, though, considering yesterday. [He winks, smiles a little brighter, taking a page from Raikou's book.]

[Allen considers that point suddenly quite strongly, glancing into the distance with a very distant, distracted expression.]

I’ve had done hunting in a sense…

[He’s shuddering to his bones and probably recalling something horrid with master Cross. Memories like that bring a horrible pang of regret now, though, and he quickly pushes aside the childhood memory.]

It didn’t end well.

[Everyone should probably leave it at that. His grimaced expression would indicate such.]

Eh? Why would I be sick of you? [Allen kind of gets the humor of the wink as he says that, but he still has a nervous grin; it’s a bit of an odd statement to have pointed out in his opinion. But he really isn’t tired of seeing the other boy. Gau’s one of the most stable points in this new world he’s encountered. Friends are friends and will look out for each other, right?]

[Miharu walks behind everyone just taking in what everyone is doing...people watching was something he had become very good at.]

So...Gau isn't going with Raikou, but Yoite and me are?

[Raikou was someone that he still didn't fully know...so he wasn't sure what to think of him. But he did help save them, so he couldn't be so bad right?

Sorting things out in his head, he just takes in the surroundings in some small attempt to learn the path.]

Hm...

[Rin has just been going along with the group so far, and rather quiet. The descent brings back memories, like the ascent the previous day. This is where she first settled, with an empty stomach and a whole lot of confusion. In a way, not much has changed since then: she is just marginally less confused and definitely hungry.

But, well, that's what they're here for. The prospect of hunting makes her a little nervous; she remembers how her last attempts at fishing went. And hunting actual game? Yeah, that would go over well ( ... )

[ Lelouch has been distinctly dreading this. He's already learned how to subsist mostly on the fruit that grows here naturally, after his covert attempts to trap some of the wildlife utterly failed. Now, in a large group of people, he's...let's say he's not happy.

Oh, look, Rin and Val and a few others are over there. Perhaps he can just sort of piggyback onto a group and look competent without having to actually attempt to feign competence. ]

Rin, good to have you.

[ He smiles encouragingly. ]

[When Lelouch speaks to her, she looks up at him. He's been on this whole gods search mission for a while, she remembers. Nice luck, being in the same group as both Valeria and him. She'd chosen well.

In response, she puts on her very sweetest smile.]

Ruruushu-san.

[And bows a little.]

You are going to be in our group, too, then?

I believe so. [ He gives Rin a bow in return, a bit awkwardly. He hasn't done that since the few months he spent with the Kururugi family before the fall of Japan. ]

I have to admit, [ he says, leaning in as if he's a very jovial conspirator ] I'm not very good at this.
