Kusasato really was the ideal spot for them; secluded and uninhabited - if one could dismiss the airship - the nature of the houses nestled away from each other, with all this wide space in between, was a grateful one for Light. It kept them well away from other people, and staying cut off with L would further his plans in the long run. Yes, it was ideal. If necessary, it wasn't such a long walk elsewhere, but when he had come here, he had wanted to hide, and much of the village seemed to be hidden; nestled in the wide grassland and deep valleys; the ideal place for a serial killer and a recluse detective

L nods affirmation, murmuring unintelligibly in the vein of I can't believe I'm expected to do something so menial. And despite what he cannot deny is childish sulking, tightens his grasp on the loop of rope

It seemed so simple somehow. Magical, that moment, when the rope had fallen into place and the goat had just bleated at them. L stepped forward, hand full of hay, and Light only watched, more surprised than anything. Light had the impression of a child feeding a rabbit a blade of grass at a pet store.
Had he ever had a pet? Maybe not. It was hard to tell, with L, what his childhood had really been like.
And yet it's just adorable and ridiculous in the same breath. L is a constant surprise to him, recently. Quietly, he stepped closer, moving to get a secure grip on the rope quite close to L's own hand.
