[The temptation to simply stay by Raikou's side has been with Gau ever since he first saw his partner's injuries, and he's been running back and forth between the other man's bedside and taking care of things around the camp for the past day and a half or so.

Now, it's nearly noon, and his fingers are once more stroking gently through blond - and it's so strange to see it this way, without the dye - locks and leaning over his partner's form, protectively.

No one will hurt Raikou now, here. He's determined to take care of his lover, this time.]

Raikou... wake up for me for a little while?

[He tone is soft, as if he's not entirely sure if he wants to wake the man up or not.]

[Raikou didn't want to be awake - not at all. Being awake brought the pain searing across his belly into sharp focus, the memory of Lelouch's death right there before him once more...

Until he focused on verdant eyes and remembered where he was.

The softest of a whimper is breathed out of Raikou as his brows furrow and he turns his head towards the familiar hand in his hair, lips brushing lazily against Gau's wrist.]

Gau? H...how long've I been asleep?

It's been a couple days.

[Not quite, technically, but the tone in Gau's voice says that it doesn't matter how long because every minute of those days had been like years of some kind of hellish torment.

Because it's not that Raikou wouldn't just come back if he died, but the suffering and healing part, those are the parts that scare Gau. Because he doesn't want his partner to have to suffer pain, and then there's always that question of what if this time he just doesn't come back?

There was never any guarantee, he was sure of that.]

Sorry if I woke you. I can give you some more of the medicine...

[Not yet, please not yet. Just a few minutes...]

Feel free to bug him~ he'll wake up if someone talks to him, probably verdant_walker March 3 2011, 22:17:02 UTC
Ginko had arrived in the camp sometime last night, along with Gai, Lee, and Kakashi. The doctor in the camp had eventually gotten around to taking a look at him, and had given him something for the pain in his ribs and back. Apparently, it had also been something to make him sleep; he had pretty much passed out soon after that, in one of the many beds that had been set up.

Even though it was now well past the time he normally would be awake he showed no signs of waking just yet, his face peaceful under the bruises that were just starting to heal.

He dropped by Ginko's bed to check on him. While they hadn't spoken much yet, Gai felt a little bad about forgetting the other man when everything went downhill. If Ginko needed sleep Gai didn't want to bother him, but if Gai was quiet and Ginko woke then it must be fine.

"Good day, Ginko." His voice was surprisingly low (for him.)

The sound of his name did what the brightness of the sun and the background murmur of the camp hadn't; Ginko's eye flicked open. He blinked a few times before he rolled over onto his back without thinking--and let out a soft groan as his ribs and back let him know they weren't happy with him. He waited until the pain subsided again before he spoke.

"Hnnn... what time is it?" Judging by the sun, he'd slept too long.
