In which my heart is broken

So I was looking up the lyrics for CCR's "Down on the Corner" so that I could sing it for that meme, because ruthette requested it, knowing full well that no one actually knows what 95% of the words are to that song.

I always thought the second stanza of that song went something like this:

Booster hits the wa____________________mile ( Read more... )

if you were looking on an open lyrics site, it is probably wrong...but if you saw it on the singer's site, sorry!

(some of those open lyric or bot-transcripters are terrible)

I always thought it was devil's on the loose, too.

That and "You don't need a pinhead just to hang around."

Ahh, Mondegreens.

See this post. I haven't recorded myself singing any of the songs yet, have to do that this weekend.

Hahaha! I know, it should be like when Tartini dreamed the Devil visited him, snatched up his violin and played a tune of such beauty his breath was taken away, and when he awoke immediately wrote down the melody, which became his Violin Sonata in G minor, or the "Devil's Trill." Except Willy was dancing to the Devil's Kazoo Doodle.

My best screw up is that B-52 song "Love Shack"

You know how the last line is "Tin roof--rusted!"

I always thought it was "Henry! Busted!" Like some girl busted Henry with another chick at the love shack.

I was quite disappointed to find out I was wrong. I still think my version is more interesting than a rusty tin roof.

The only line I'm really sure about is "lay yo' money down."

Everything else is just jibberish.

If you told me the last line was devil owns Baloo, I'd believe you.
