Cosmetics and SG-1 (less-than-earthshattering thoughts concerning lipstick)

I am beginning to notice a trend in my efforts to write fanfic. I can either write short, silly, plotless banter or I can write longer, plotty fic that is filled to the brim with maudlin angst. For some reason that eludes my understanding, I cannot seem to write fic that contains both plot and humor, and this angers me. *pouts

That she is. I was very close to asking my stylist to do my hair like Carter's, but I thought that might be crossing a line.

Yeah, but then I'd have to figure out which Carter hairstyle I want. Classic S1-2 Carter? Early S3 long and moppy Carter? Post-enforced-slavery scary short Carter? Or Possibly the most recent, artfully tossled bed-head Carter?

If your mom's conjecture is correct, and she only runs into old boyfriends when she looks a wreck, then being fully (or at least partially) made up when going out is as much a pre-emptive measure as anything, right? So one puts on one's eyeliner and lipstick in case one runs into an old boyfriend, but it might just as likely have some inexplicable cosmic effect of warding off old boyfriends?

So while it is true that Sam is more than likely to run into an old boyfriend when traveling off-world, her make-up might also be a pre-emptive measure designed to avoid running into old boyfriends?

Or am I way off on this? :-)
