So, that new CSI...

I'm a bad fangirl.

I didn't even know the new season of CSI was starting last night until hubby called in the afternoon and said hey, new CSI, make sure to cue the DVR. So I did, and we got around to watching it eventually, and... yeah. Not quite sure what to make of this one.

And the next in line for whumping IS... )

reviews, csi

Greg is going to be "whumped" in episode...I think it's either four or five, called "Fannysmackin", and it's a pretty big deal. I can tell you specific spoilerish stuff if you're interested in it...

I can also tell you who Catherine will "tell" and who she won't.

Oooooh, Greg whumpage. And the title of that ep is just much too interesting. *g* Normally I read spoilers like crazy, but with the moving and working and such lately I haven't kept up. So sure, spoil me!

As for who Catherine will tell... hmmm. My first guess is Gil, but for that, I'll wait and see.

Okay, for anyone reading this who doesn't want to be spoiled, look away now.

The whole point of "fannysmackin" is where a bunch of "teens" beat up tourists and ultimately kill them, just for the fun of it. Greg comes up on a scene to find this happening, steps in (saving the guy being beaten up's life) only to get beaten up (severely) himself. Apparently "K-fed" is one of these teenagers, and in his anger with "K-fed" and protectiveness over Greg, Nick punches him "at a scene". So I'm not sure if Nick comes up and catches them or not, but that'd be pretty sweet.

Oooooh, lots of good stuff in that one, then. Greg being all heroic and intervening, and then Nick going after the guys who got Greg. Maybe we'll even get a scene with both of them in it, like a hospital visit or something.

Honey, I am *so* glad you posted.

Yes to all of the above. I could do without the Gil/Sara, but you're right--that thing at the end of last season sort of over-sensitized me, and it's really not all that bad. Thanks for the perspective.

Yes, I see Nick-guilt and Catherine-trauma in the future, and I do wonder why Greg isn't getting his fair share. I also wonder what happened with Warrick's wife, but hey, that would be expecting more continuity than the writers can manage, what with the veggie burger and all. *g*

I think my problem with the thing at the end of season six was that it felt tacked on and superfluous. It was pointless pandering to the shippers without any plot reason for being there, and that bugged me. This sly flirting and little exchanged smiles thing, though--that's okay. It doesn't distract from the story or the case, so I can live with it.

As for Warrick's wife, I don't think that's going to last. They got married for the wrong reasons, and now I think she's asking for more of Warrick than he's ready to give.

And for Nick guilt, I don't think he's going to find out what happened right away. I think it'll be kind of a secret around the lab, with only a select few knowing what's going on. I have to wonder if Catherine will somehow subconsciously blame Nick for leaving her there. Irrational, but who thinks clearly after something like that? Maybe the way she treats him will change and he won't know why.

Dammit, now I want to watch CSI again. I kicked that habit ages ago.

Not random sudden overwrought moony eyes of death at inopportune moments. (I'm looking at you, Jack/Sam.)
Ew.

Hey, CSI is of the good. All sciency and mysterious and chock full of whumping.

And oh yes, my loathing of the Jack/Sam runs deep. Not the pairing so much itself (although I think they would never work together) but the way it was handled on the show.

Same here. I didn't really mind the idea of Sam/Jack early on, but later on it made me want to punch people.

All sciency and mysterious and chock full of whumping.

I don't remember that much whumping. Just the Labrat Liam (forgot his real name. Greg, I think) who got blown up in his lab and needed hugs. Poor Labrat.

Of course, I haven't seen the last 3 or so seasons.

Dude, then you missed the super whump at the end of season five. I don't want to spoil you unless you're into being spoiled, but seriously, this is like hardcore h/c fic on the screen.

Also, Liam! Bwah, from the TWOP recaps, right? I love those things.
