Growing up

Every now and again it comes home to me that YoungBloke is growing up*. This afternoon, after YB finally completed his holiday homework, we decided to go and see The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug 3D. He can cope with a very long film (although still needs a reminder to go to the loo first), enjoys live action as well as animation, and follows story

Yep. I've seen some people express disappointment, but we don't go expecting Art, just Fun. No idea what frame rate version we saw.

I just want reasonably decent story. The first one was OK, so if it follows on like that, I'll be happy.

Well when we started reading it to YB at bedtimes, I suddenly realised I'd never actually read it, so I dunno if they've messed the book about at all, but it seemed OK
