9. Pairings - For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favourite pairings to write?

Three?! This is insane. The only thing I can even come up with that HAS three romantic pairings, off the bat, is "Pride and Prejudice". ;P But I'll talk about my favorite friendship pairings, and if I've written any romantic pairings (except James/ ( Read more... )

You're right, lost_spook, an all-computer threesome would be right up my street. *g*

LOL. I can't get it out of my head now I've said it, but all I can get as far is imagining a possible three-way conversation before/during Terminal, but to make it shippy... *fail* Zen is mysterious, Orac is arrogant and snippy and Slave is so worryingly humble. (B7 computers are great & second only to Holly. Both of him/her. Which is saying a lot, as Holly is the best computer that any SF show ever did.)

I don't know most of your fandoms so well & we discussed the DW ones... But friendship stuff is nice and often rare, so why not? And Sapphire and Steel, yes. I mean the only question is not are they a ship, but do you have optional OT3ness or stick with pure OTP. :-)

I have no idea who Holly is?

Re S&S: I am on Steel's side, so I mostly focus on the OTP, but honestly it's an OT3 with the liking going in every direction except Steel > Silver. (My brain is making complex diagrams like molecules with single and double bonds here...)

(I am quite happy to answer any questions anyone has ever had about any of my fandoms that sound interesting to them. *g* Or just babble at random. I did basically stop with "who do I write" here and not go into "why are they awesome", didn't I?)

Whoops. I should always remember never to assume that people know Red Dwarf outside of the UK. (I mean, they do, but assuming is unwise.) Holly is the ship's computer into the 1990s SF sitcom Red Dwarf ... and probably the only computer to have a sex change twice. Has an IQ of 6000. Or 6, depending. I would highly recommend RD, but it's one of those shows that are so odd, it's hard to know who would like it and who wouldn't. Personally, I always veer on the side of 'if you have a sense of humour and like any SF shows', yes. It does send up Star Trek quite a bit, but funnily enough probably has the most real science I've seen in an SF show. Probably because real science theories are too crazy to work in something that's serious? I dunno. ;-D ( ... )

Um. Sorry. Got a little carried away by attempting to explain Red Dwarf:

Yes, well, Sapphire/Steel is the heart of it, the bit that keeps it together, but there's a lovely dynamic as an OT3 and because they're so not human, it doesn't have any of the usual problems (I anyway) have with OT3s. And, yeah, although even Steel not liking Silver doesn't really last out Assignment Three. Well, other than his just being Steel, of course, and Silver still liking to be annoying. :-)

Well, to be fair, it was quite a long question to go through! I am sure you'll get that in another time, or another meme. :-D
