It's been a crazy-busy week since I last posted. Work work work on Tuesday and Wednesday, then a long drive late Wednesday night up to northeast Tennessee to see my mother and younger siblings. Xerces-J internals are pure insanity. I'm amazed the library works at all. if you ever are asked to dig into them any deeper than the vanilla public interface that javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser provides, run quickly screaming.

My coworkers at SecureWorks are often called SecureWorkers. I think my soon-to-be coworkers at Reflex should have a name. I'm leaning toward Reflections. Maybe Reflectors.

So I proffered my letter of resignation to SecureWorks today, and my letter of acceptance to Reflex as well. I'll be starting at the latter on the 18th unless the former decide they're done with me early. Which may happen, depending on what HR decides tomorrow ( Read more... )

I got the offer. It's quite acceptable. I'll be signing papers at Reflex and turning in notice to SecureWorks on Monday, and I'll start at Reflex on July 18th!

Apparently dankamongmen, with whom I'll be working pretty closely at Reflex, thinks I have "anime tendancies" [sic]. I don't think he's seen me bounce yet *g*.

Or at least I will by the end of the day. Reflex Security -- the people I interviewed with on Tuesday -- liked my code and my defense of it. They'll have me an offer by the end of the day. If the offer is acceptable then I'll accept it and start there in three weeks.
